Please note, this listing is for the whole cake.
The original recipe for prinsesstårta first appeared in a 1948 cookbook. The cake was originally called grön tårta (green cake) due to its covering of green marzipan, but was given the name prinsesstårta or "princess cake" because the Swedish princesses of the day were said to have been especially fond of the cake.
As part of our festive baking, we are offering a Prinsesstårta delivered directly from Koivu's kitchen to your home. This elegant cake features three layers of light sponge and rich vanilla custard cream, complemented by a luscious homemade raspberry jam. Enveloped in a delicate blanket of Danish marzipan and crowned with a trio of edible roses and dusting of icing sugar, each bite promises pure satisfaction. The prinsesstårta serves 12 - 14 people.
There is a choice of traditional pink roses (as pictured), or red roses with marzipan holly leaves.
The cake will be good for up to three days from delivery so long as it is refrigerated.
